An alternative offer to the Silver Lake deal has been offered to New Zealand Rugby and Provincial Unions. Local investment company Forsyth Barr has suggested the sale of five percent of the assets NZR has in revenue generating assets through an NZX listed entity to the New Zealand public and institutions.
It would mean, essentially, fans could own a slice of the NZR and Provincial unions. To mull over this option further and if it's a better outcome than selling to an overseas buyer, Jesse is joined by rugby writer Hamish Bidwell.
