A Niue boxer based in Aotearoa, is heading to Russia to compete in the 2024 World Friendship Games, seen as the potential rival to the Paris Olympics.

Commonwealth bronze and Pacific Games gold medalist, Duken Tutakitoa-Williams, is heading to Russia instead after finding out Niue was excluded from the Olympics because like many other smaller nations, it does not have a recognized National Olympic Committee.

Lydia Lewis spoke with Tutakitoa-Williams about the struggle small nations like Niue have in getting to the Olympics.
