A company owned by the Crafar family has been fined $65,000 in the Hamilton District Court for unlawful discharge of effluent on a dairy farm near Taupo.
The company Hillside Ltd is in receivership.
A guilty plea was entered on 21 December to four charges brought by the Waikato Regional Council.
Three related to unlawful discharge of effluent, while the other charge was breaching an abatement notice.
The charges related to discharges of effluent on a farm at Kuratau, south-west of Lake Taupo.
Charges laid against Hillside's directors Allan, Frank and Elizabeth Crafar, and a sharemilker on the property, were withdrawn at the December hearing.
