A 29-year-old Waikato man has been arrested and charged with the murder of Cedric Maniapoto.
Maniapoto, 58, was found dead at an address on Ohautira Road in Te Uku, just outside of Raglan, on 5 March.
Then man is due to appear in the Hamilton District Court 14 March.
Police were not ruling out further arrests.
They are appealing for sightings of a red coloured 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon in the Te Mata, Te Uku and Raglan areas on the morning of the 5 March.
