Police have launched an investigation after a sudden death following disorder at a home in Hastings.
Senior Sergeant James Keene said police were called to reports of disorder in Murdoch Place in the suburb of Raureka, about 8.50pm on Saturday.
A person was found unresponsive at a home in the street and was given medical assistance, but died at the scene.
The death was being treated as unexplained, Keene said; "Enquiries to determine the circumstances are ongoing".
A scene guard was in place at the property.
