Fiji is developing guidelines on how to relocate its villages affected by climate change.

The government has so far identified 45 communities which will need shifting in the next decade out of 800 expected to be affected by climate change.

The government says it is consulting interested groups and communities to come up with the best approach to relocation and ensure the communities' long term survival.
