Fiji's former Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua, has become a top diplomat and is now Ambassador at Large for Fiji.
Fijivillage reports that the appointment has been confirmed by the foreign minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.
Brigadier General Naivalurua is the second police commissioner in four years to resign to become a senior diplomat .
His predecessor at the helm of the police, Commodore Esala Teleni, is now Fiji's ambassador in China.
