Fiji's interim government says the Japanese government has offered its support to the electoral and constitutional reform process currently underway in Fiji.
During a meeting yesterday to strengthen bilateral ties, Japan's Ambassador to Fiji, Eiichi Oshima offered to assist Fiji as it prepares for elections in 2014.
Fiji's Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the government acknowledges the ever-growing international support for its vision for a new Fiji.
He says the pledge of support from Japan reaffirms the special relationship between Fiji and Japan.
