The Mayor of Auckland city, Len Brown, has been bestowed with a Samoan chiefly matai title of Taua'aletoa.
The ceremony was held last night at Lepa, the village of the Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sailele Malielegaoi
The bestowal of the title is a mark of high respect by the prime minister and his family for Mr Brown's visit to Samoa with a delegation of business representatives.
