Observers from the Pacific Islands Forum are in Nauru this week to observe the general elections to be held on Saturday.
The secretary general of the Forum says the team shows the ongoing support members have for democratic governance, political stability and economic rehabilitation in Nauru.
Greg Urwin says the team aims to gain an overview of the election environment and the electoral process for a report to be provided to the Nauru government and election authorities.
Elections were brought forward by two months.
