The three thousand people relocated on Ambae Island since Mt Manaro began erupting last month are reportedly doing well but there are concerns over a shortage of water in some of the emergency centres.

A water and sanitation engineer with the Red Cross, Victoria Fray, has just returned to Port Vila from Ambae and says most of those relocated have sufficient water and sanitation requirement is adequate.

But says they are working to establish a water source for two of the 15 centres.

"There are two centres that have insufficient water at this stage and we are working together with the National Department of Lands, Geology and Mines to establish a water supply on Western Ambae for those two communities."
