Claims deadline looms for cyclone-hit Manu'a residents in American Samoa

Residents of Manu'a in American Samoa have until May 3rd, to put in claims for damage caused by Cyclone Olaf with the US Federal Emergency Management Agency.

FEMA officials say the registration is winding down with claims lodged for the majority of the effected residences.

As of last week, FEMA had registered 372 applicants for federal assistance and inspected 369 of the sites.

So far the federal agency has approved US$2.1 million in aid.
