The Pacific Islands Forum has appointed another deputy secretary general.
The new one is Peter Forau of Solomon Islands to join Iosefa Maiava of Samoa.
Mr Forau is a former secretary of foreign affairs and will be given the title deputy secretary general, economic growth and security.
Mr Maiava, who has been the only deputy so far, will be given the title deputy secretary general, sustainable development and good governance.
The announcement was made by the secretary general, Greg Urwin of Australia, who said the additional appointment is to assist with the management of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
