The Governor-General of New Zealand is to visit Solomon Islands after being invited by her Honiara counterpart.
Dame Silvia Cartwright will arrive in the Solomons on Tuesday and will leave the country on Friday.
The Official Secretary to the governor-general, Hugo Judd, says Dame Silvia will meet New Zealand forces that are part of the Regional Assistance Mission or RAMSI.
"The New Zealand government felt it was a very good idea to go and see what work our people were doing and to meet the Solomon Island leaders."
Mr Judd says Dame Silvia will stop in Fiji on her way back to New Zealand but no official engagements are arranged.
