Unofficial results indicate a by-election has voted in oldest candidate to stand for office

The oldest candidate for political office in Samoa, Taatiti Alofa, has own a by-election for Alataua West, according to un-official results.

Taatiti Alofa is 90 years old and a member of the opposition SNDP.

He is said to have polled 369 votes, almost a hundred ahead of his nearest rival the HRPP candidate.

Taatiti Alofa's age is expected to create history if his win is officially confirmed by Election Officials.
