Upbeat's Berlin correspondent Lucy Orbell is at the British Council's Literary Seminar, which has been taking new literary voices from the UK to Germany for 30 years.
This year's theme is "Form in Tension". Chaired by poet and novelist Lavinia Greenlaw, participating writers include Philip Hoare, Frances Leviston, Deborah Levy, Helen Oyeyemi and Will Self, who Lucy speaks to first.
