Every Friday, we bring you some of the most interesting events and happenings coming up in Aotearoa this weekend.

Four young men are taking a pitstop from kayaking the East Coast of the North Island, from Cape Reinga to Wellington, a journey of over 2,000 kilometres.

Sailing under the banner Paddle for Purpose, the journey for charities Live Ocean and the Mental Health Foundation has taken nearly three months, and they're on the home stretch.

10:17 Live classical music returns to Hanmer Springs for first time in 100 years

The small Alpine Village of Hanmer Springs in North Canterbury is preparing for its first classical music concert in a century.

The internationally renowned Cathy Irons String Quartet will be on stage to perform popular works by Vivaldi, Mozart and Borodin.

Proceeds from the gala concert, held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hanmer Springs Hotel, will be put toward the purchase of mobility wheelchairs for the Hanmer Springs Health Centre.

More than 10 percent of the population of the thermal township are expected to attend on Mothers Day.
